Nursery Handbook
Our Nursery has been recently extended to for more spaces and we are now able to take children form aged 2. We have a 3 year old room and a two year old room. Please complete the application form and we will be in touch.
Kents Hill Infant Academy opened our nursery in January 2022 and extended our spaces to offer to a 2 year old room from September 2025. We are a school based nursery for 2 – 4 year old children during term time only.
The school run provision offers Free Early Education Entitlement funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds, including the Extended Funding Entitlement (30 hours). Privately paid places are also available if the funding does not apply to you.

Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an email to confirm your child’s place for requested sessions, or to confirm that they are on our waiting list. Places will initially be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Thereafter, or in the case of oversubscribed sessions, spaces will be allocated based upon our nursery admissions policy.
Once your place is confirmed, please pop into the school office to sign your funding agreement form if this is applicable to you because some / all of your hours are funded.

Session Times and Prices:
Uniform
Whilst not statutory, we do encourage children to wear a variation of the school uniform. We have found that this makes the children feel part of the school. Our suggested uniform is as follows:
- Purple t-shirt with grey skirt/jogging bottoms/shorts or pinafore.
- Children can wear a purple gingham dress/ playsuit in summer.
We ask that children are ideally sent to nursery with a rucksack containing:
- a change of clothes
- a bottle of water
- coat, hat and anything else dictated by current weather conditions.
- We ask that all items are clearly labelled please.
Hair and Jewellery
We do ask that children do not wear jewellery of any description. Also, any long hair must be tied up.
Stay and Play for New Starters
In order for children to familiarise themselves with KHIA nursery prior to starting, we invite children and parents to a stay and play session. The one hour session will be arranged for you by our Nursery managers.Where is the Nursery based? The nursery is based in our spare classroom, at the back of the school. We have created an outside classroom behind the nursery, adjacent to the Reception outdoor classroom, for free-flow outside learning. The nursery is part of the school so it also has access to school resources and facilities as required. For example, use of the school hall, trim trial, playgrounds, sensory room and field.The curriculum, planning, provision and pupil progress is overseen and line-managed by the school’s EYFS lead and the Senior Leadership Team.We are offering families two three-hour sessions per day as well as the option to stay for a lunch club. This club is a paid for session, in addition to the sessions offered and will take place in the school hall. Funded hours cannot be used for lunch club. Nursery children also have the option to buy a hot school dinner if they wish. This is a great club to get your child ready for school and to get a feel for what lunchtimes are like in the school hall.
