PE

I am the PE lead at Kents Hill Infant Academy because I am so passionate about sports. I am a very active person out of school and swam for England in the Commonwealth Games when I was younger. I love that we also swim at this school!  I strongly believe that participation in sports is essential for a healthy body and mind, and I want to share my passion with the children. I hope to inspire every child to enjoy PE lessons at school and choose to participate in physical activity out of school for the rest of their lives to ensure physical and mental well-being.

We follow the National Curriculum, organized by the ‘Get St 4 PE’ scheme of work for PE. This ensures we follow all of the knoweldge, inclusing the disciplinary knowledge of being a sportsperson, dancer or gymnast.

We also offer swimming lessons in the summer term of Year 2 as part of our curriculum, even though it is not a requirement in the infant phase. This is because we value swimming as an important life skill.

We also work in partnership with Castle Point and Rochford Sports Partnership through The Deanes School. They run a lot of our sports-based clubs and support our teachers.
