Maths is integral to surviving and thriving in our everyday life, allowing us to make sense of the world around us and function in our lives. Maths is everywhere! Time keeping, understanding TV guides and cinema times. Shopping, budgeting and paying bills. Cooking, portioning and sharing. Travel, bus routes, petrol and mileage all rely on an understanding of maths.
Maths is a rich and stimulating subject, covering so many aspects to intrigue and inspire small minds. Learning mathematics gives children access to the wider curriculum and the opportunity to pursue further studies and interests. Maths is the key to our future success.
Maths at KHIA
We follow version three of the White Rose scheme of work and follow a mastery approach to number. This emasn we ensure the chidlrne deeply understand and can apply theyr mathematical learning to set them up with the best possible foundations for their future Mathematical learning.
