Visitors and Trips at KHIA

Throughout our knowledge-rich curriculum, we have mapped out a minimum of three educational trips/visitors. These are used to enhance or inspire the curriculum and include a coach trip, a local visit, and a visitor to the school.

 

Nursery:

  1. Exotic Animals Visit

Reception:

  1. Benfleet Library
  2. Visiting Police offers, paramedics, vets and fire fighters
  3. Barleylands Farm Trip

Year 1:

  1. Chinese Dance workshop
  2. Benfleet Baptist Church
  3. Colchester Castle

Year 2:

  1. Viking Visitor – Viking dress-up day!
  2. St Mary’s Church and Viking Memorial
  3. Colchester Zoo – African experience!
  4. Roots to Food Cookery Workshop with Chef Darren

The Amazon Suite:

  1. Visit to Rayleigh Megacentre
  2. Swimming in summer 2 for Year 2 pupils
